Beer bread has become of one my go-tos. Minimal ingredients make this quick bread a winner.

And even though I’m not a fan of beer itself, I think it tastes awesome – and so do the kids.

This is a fun one for the kids to help with too – minimal ingredients mean it doesn’t take long to mix up, so it’s just enough to hold their interest.

We always serve this with a honey butter for slathering on. I just melt some butter, and stir in an equal amount of honey then pop it in the fridge, stirring every few minutes as it cools.

I prefer this bread when eaten within a day or two of baking. After that, I like to cube it up and toast it for croutons – they make such an awesome salad topping!

Makes 1 Loaf

3 cups flour
1 Tbsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/4 cup honey
1 12 oz. beer
4 Tbsp. butter

Preheat the oven to 350. Grease a loaf pan and set aside.

Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt together in a large bowl.

Warm the honey in the microwave for a few seconds and stir. Add in the beer and honey and stir until combined.

Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Slice the butter into 8 – 1/2 Tbsp. slices and place over the top of the batter.

Bake for 40-50 minutes, until a knife inserted comes out clean. Let cool for 5-10 minutes, then remove from pan.
