Grilled Bread with Honey-Rosemary Drizzle

As soon we started getting days over 70, my meal planning pretty much went into full-on summer mode. What is “summer mode”, you ask? Everything possible on the grill – and keep it simple.

This side is so easy I debated whether to even post the recipe, but it’s perfect for days when you want a little something more with dinner but have zero effort left to give. And it goes with so much.

Ingredients

  • 1 large loaf artisan bread, thickly sliced
  • Olive oil
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 2 sprigs rosemary, roughly chopped

This is a great summer recipe for me because we always have fresh herbs in the garden! Rosemary is my favorite here, but thyme, sage, and even mint would also work well!

Directions

  • Preheat the grill to medium-high.
  • Brush bread slices on both sides lightly with olive oil. Place on grill and cook for 5-8 minutes, turning halfway.
  • Stir together honey and rosemary and microwave for about 15 seconds, until warm enough to drizzle easily.
  • Serve grilled bread topped with a drizzle of warm, rosemary honey.

Make sure you keep an eye on the bread as it’s grilling – burnt bread is nobody’s favorite! If your grill (like ours!) has hot spots, you’ll want to flip the slices in the hot spots earlier.

When I’m making main dish on the grill, I love making side dishes on the grill too. It’s easier to not run back and forth to the kitchen and I love the easy cleanup with most grilled dishes.
